The Sunday Night Facial: Get Autumn ready skincare routine.
As weekends go, wow we really have seen the temperatures drop over the past few days. It’s time to put away those bare legs and get the black tights out. So what does that mean for our skin? Well, you’re in luck! During the past few months, I have had a lot of new launches land on my desk (well a few are not so new anymore) and I’ve spent too long testing them out. Nevertheless, they are products that are great for the turn in weather with particular focus on feeding the skin, so think hydration, hydration, hydration!
With hydration being the key to supple and healthy skin, our first new launch comes from Neutrogena and their Hydro Boost range. Each product in the collection is designed to give your skin that continuous boost of hydration required to bounce back to life. My pick from the the new collection for this month’s Sunday facial is the Hydro Boost Micellar Water*, £7.99. Whilst some people may regard micellar waters as a fad, I can honestly say that one simple cleanse of the face never dissolves the day’s dirt away. A first easy step cleanse with the Neutrogena Hydro boost with Hyaluronic acid cleanses the skin effectively, protecting the skin’s barrier and locking in hydration. It leaves you completely makeup-free to move onto getting that squeaky clean feeling by using your favourite facial wash. To learn more about the whole range, click here.
Next we have the Fresh Plumping Mask: British Rose £15, by The Body Shop. This 100% vegan mask is infused with real rose petals, rose essence, rosehip oil and organic Community Trade Aloe Vera. Inspired by the European bathing rituals, this also is another product that focuses on adding moisture to the skin resulting in a healthier and dewy complexion. Its gel-like formula means that it’s not messy to apply and is easy to wash off. Whilst this mask is focused on plumping the skin, the rest of the new mask range focuses on areas such as nourishment, purification, clarifying and energising. Then we move onto the eyes (the area that I feel I neglect the most when it comes to skincare). Recently, I’ve really been getting into my eye shields or masks. Using these types of masks first thing in the morning (if you have the spare time) is a great way to get rid of any puffiness and easing away those dark under eye circles. I am always in a rush first thing in the morning and being that most of these eye masks do not require you to wash anything off, using them at night whilst getting that well needed beauty sleep seems to me the most sensible option. This DHC Rich Eye Zone Care Pack* £15 for 6 revitalises the entire eye area. Hyaluronic acid and elastin protect the skin’s natural moisture barrier, with multi-peptides to support collagen and Olive fruit oil that hydrates the skin.
Lastly we have the Total Renewal Night Cream* £38 by the new organic skincare brand, MÁDARA. By replacing the traditional base ingredient of water from all formulations with birch water, a powerful ingredient has been born. This pure ingredient has long been a Nordic woman’s top beauty secret. Birch water contains one of the richest sources of bio-available nutrients including vitamins, proteins, amino acids and enzymes, and is known to help cleanse and remove toxins from the body and help nourish the body’s cells with organic acids. The Time Miracle range contains six products. To view the range, click here.
