The Konjac Puff Sponge
I’m going to start this blog post by telling myself off as I totally missed reviewing this product and in all honesty forgot that I even had it! If it not have been for the fantastic site that is FeelUnique.com sending me an email asking if I wanted to repurchase as had I been using the sponge, post its three month shelf life, then the Konjac Puff Sponge would have missed its debut on MrsJonasRecommends.com.
So what is a Konjac Puff Sponge?
The Konjac Puff Sponge is a 100% natural vegetable fibre sponge that works for all skin types. The Japanese have been using the natural skincare properties of the Konjac plant for centuries. Some regard it as a way of having a mini facial every day!
Benefits of the Konjac Puff Sponge
100% natural vegetable fibre (it kind of looks and smells like a rice bun)
Removes water based makeup (no more panda mascara eyes)
Gentle enough to be used around the eye area
Suitable for sensitive skin
Can be used on its own as well as with your favourite facial wash (although must avoid eye area when using with facial wash)
How to use and take care of your Konjac Puff Sponge
The Konjac Puff Sponge comes neatly packed in an air tight bag to retain its moisture prior to first use. When opening your Konjac Puff Sponge pack for the first time I suggest, as the instructions state, to rinse your sponge and soak and hydrate it in lukewarm water. Then use the sponge to massage your face in small circular motion concentrating on any delicate or problem areas that you have. The sponge can be used alone or with your favourite facial cleanser for a deeper clean. The sponge should only be used for a minute or two, the same amount of time that you usually wash your face (no over cleansing folks). After you have finished using your sponge, squeeze out any excess water gently. Never twist or use excessive force on the sponge. Hang to dry in a well-aired space (the sponge has a handy little string attached to it just for that use). I hang mine off my bed side door knob. As the Konjac Puff Sponge dries, it slightly hardens and shrinks so remember to follow the usage process again the next day. Depending on how often you use this sponge, it can last up to three months.
Mrs J’s Verdict – I love the Konjac Puff Sponge and am weirdly drawn to the rice smell that it has. The sponge is very soft to the touch yet tough enough that you can feel it on your face. Being that I use different facial cleansers throughout the year and am a fan of an electric facial cleanser, the Konjac Puff Sponge is the perfect facial accessory for mine and Mr J’s South West England Camping Adventure! The natural Konjac Puff Sponge that I used can be bought here for £7.99.
