Spotlight: Introducing Succulence!
It’s Monday morning, you’re scrolling through Instagram and, guaranteed, if you haven’t seen the #mondaymotivation shots, or the #coffee shot, then you’ve definitely seen some beautiful flat lays or images containing plants! There are large overflowing String of Pearl plants, air purifying Mothers Tongue plants and those really cute desk (aka low maintenance succulent) plants. Plants are having their moment and have suddenly become cool. Well, I mean they’ve always been cool… and with all this adulting going on, even I have managed to turn my living room into a semi-jungle; and note: all real plants! Also, so far, I’ve managed to keep them alive! Now when it came to buying these plants, I had no real idea what I was doing which is where Succulence came into the picture.
What is Succulence?
Succulence is an Urban Plant shop that finds plants to suit your home or city space like offices, shops, or or any space that you want to decorate. They also host workshops where you can learn how to make your own terrariums, a fun alternative activity for events such as a hen do; also perfect for corporate team building events. If you don’t have a large space to fill then you can also find them at various markets and pop ups over London. For current residences, click here.
For those of you that like a little background info, Succulence is founded by a very all-around kick-ass lady called Sarah who, I am proud to say, is also my friend. Having met in our former lives of working in Fashion Buying and Merchandising together, Sarah took the brave step of transitioning out of her stressful (more than 9 – 5 job) to pursue a passion for selling plants and offering people the chance to come and take part in workshops as a way to learn, relax and de-stress. Having taken part in a workshop just over a month ago myself, I can fully vouch for its benefits. In a very relaxed environment, Sarah gave us her background on how she started Succulence and demonstrated each of the stages of how to make a terrarium. With helping hands, music, nibbles and wine at my disposal, the end masterpiece was something I would say of exhibition quality ;-). With useful aftercare advice provided, my terrarium is fully self sufficient and is still going strong. The perfect night out!
