Sheer Cover Studio Makeup
Having been a total mineral makeup virgin and unconvinced by what it can achieve vs a liquid formulation, I have been pleasantly put right back in my place after seeing what I can only describe as tiny miracles happening on my face! So whilst I have only tried one brand, I thought I would investigate into other brands that are out there on the market and just what they can achieve – at an affordable rate. So what’s my first mineral brand up for the challenge? Sheer Cover Studio Makeup!
Sheer Cover Studio Makeup is makeup that covers skin imperfections reflecting back your own natural skin tone. With the use of patented Trueshade Technology, the products adapt to match your skin tone and adapt to different lighting conditions with minimal application effort for the customer.
In 5 easy steps!
Conceal – After cleansing and moisturising the face, use the conceal and brighten trio with a brush or fingertips to cover any dark areas (under the eyes) or any blemishes.
Brighten – Then use the brightener on areas that need highlighting, such as brow bones etc.
Cover – Using the mineral foundation, take a small amount on a brush and apply in a circular motion around the face. Remember, less is more and mineral makeup is easy to build up to achieve the desired coverage.
Illuminate – Highlight the cheekbone area or areas that you wish to highlight using the sun-kissed bronzing mineral compact for an added natural glow.
Lengthen – The final step is all about the lashes. The lengthen process falls into two parts with a lash extending fibres and then mascara on top to complete the look.
Mrs J’s verdict
Sheer Cover Studio Makeup Starter kit is the perfect kit for someone who has never used mineral makeup before or is not sure about whether it will work for them. Looking at all the parts to the set might appear as a bit of a clunky process, but let Sheer Cover take the hard part away. Simply by following their routine, it does allow for a flawless finish. I found applying the actual mineral foundation part the easiest. What took me a bit of practice was the concealing part as I’m not used to mixing three shades together. However, with all the colour corrector palettes that are out there now, this is something that I do need to master. The set also came with a eyeshadow, blush and lip tint palette. If you want a bit of shimmer then the bronzing minerals can also double up as a nice eyeshadow cover. If you’re not that comfortable like me with wearing full on mineral foundation then mix some of your moisturiser with the mineral foundation and create your own tinted moisturiser!
The Sheer Cover Makeup Kit can be bought for £19.99 (instead of £39.99, with a kit worth over £70!) so go on start your mineral makeup journey here.
