Perfect Sunday morning reads to keep you in bed!
There is nothing more indulgent than sitting in bed with a hot cup of tea or coffee, surrounded by papers, magazines and books – simply the perfect lazy Sunday morning followed by some brunch. So, in case you’re looking for some reading inspiration, below are some of the books that have turned me into a bit of a book worm this past month.
The Girl Before by J P Delaney – Now this is going to sound very punchy but I think this book is going to be THE best thriller of 2017! Having read quite a few thrillers these past few months, this one had me gripped from the very beginning. This book, in my opinion, is better than Gone Girl and Girl On The Train and deserves to be made into a film. Based around a property, number one Folgate Street, a minimalist house with an extensive set of rules to be lived by, owned by a famous architect named Edward. The story switches from the past to the present involving two women who have resided at the same address, where the previous woman to the present had mysteriously died. With many psychological twists, this book will have you guessing until the end.
I Let You Go by Clare Makintosh – This book was the first one I had read by the author Clare Makintosh. A plot based around the death of a five-year old boy called Jacob who dies crossing the road which leads into a hit and run investigation. The story engages you with an even-keel of mystery all the way through out. At some points I actually got confused with who the guilty part was. Not wanting to give any spoilers at all, I’ll leave you to find the blurb for yourself.
Lie With Me by Sabine Durrant – Okay so I haven’t technically read this book yet but it is what I am currently reading. I think I have a bit of a thriller obsession going on at the moment. I hadn’t intended on reading this book but a few fellow thriller readers have told me that they read this in two days so I wanted in! For those of you intrigued, here is the plot:
A few little lies never hurt anyone, right?
Paul has a plan. He has a vision of a better future, and he’s going to make it happen.
If it means hiding or exaggerating a few things here and there, no harm done.
But when he charms his way on to a family holiday…
And finds himself trapped among tensions and emotions he doesn’t understand…
By the time he starts to realise that however painful the truth is, it’s the lies that cause the real damage…
Well, by then, it might just be too late.
