Mrs J’s 2014 Beauty Hero’s
With so many beauty products launching on a daily basis it’s hard not to get confused about what you should be using, and when, especially when each products claims to better than the last. In a bid to not let those unsung hero’s get lost in your bathroom cabinets, here is a short post on some of my favourite beauty heros of 2014.
Instablur was one of The Body Shops fastest selling launch products of 2014. The Body Shop have always had a makeup section but nothing ever that could stand the test of time against some of the similar products on the market at the time. At a fraction of the price in comparison to some of the higher end brands offerings Instablur was able to sit firmly on that top shelf as the hero product of 2014. Instablur provides shine control, blemish cover, and pore reduction. It can be be worn alone or as a base on top of your moisturiser to give your makeup a flawless finish. During winter my skin tends to get drier, using Instablur (which includes fair trade Marula Oil) has made my skin feel and look more nourished than it is, allowing my makeup to sit as it should. To get your hands on your own Instablur for £14 click here. Note: if you sign up to the Love Your Body Card you can receive 10% off on all your purchases for a year (please check T’s and C’s). Laura Mercier Lipstick
Laura Mercier Creme Smooth Lip colour in Dulce De Leche. In my previous post on Laura Mercier Into The Wild Collection here I shared with you how I came about discovering the Laura Mercier Brand. Now one of my daily staples the Dulce De Leche is a shade that can be worn for any occasion whether it be a casual day in the office, an evening work do, or date night with Mr J. The texture of the Creme Smooth Lip Colour range are exactly what they are branded as: creamy, soft, smooth and nourishing. So much so that sometimes I forget that it is in fact a lipstick and not a Lip protector. All of Laura Mercier’s Lip collection can be worn solo or teamed up with a lip liner, and if you want to go for that extra glam look then why not dab a little lip gloss over the top. The Creme Smooth Lip Stick in Dulce De Leche is £21 and can be bought here. Anti-Feathering Lip pencil in Chesnut is £17.50 and can be bought here and finally for a bit of Lip Glace at £19.50 click here, or for the mini Glace collection at £33 click here.
Wild Argan Oil
Body Oils have been quite the craze this summer, great to lather in right after a bath or shower and an even better way to enhance and show off that summer tan. Just because the summer is over there is no reason why some of these amazing smelling oils cant be put to good use. The one that I have been additicted to is The Body Shop Radiant Argan Oil. Packaged in a handy handbag sizes bottle with spray nozzle and lid (no one wants an oil spillage in their handbag) allows for easy application. The Oil itself is multi-purpose (being Indian I love things that are multi-purpose). It can be used on your body and hair. Containing Wild Argan Oil produced from Argan Nuts in the Atlas Mountains. These nuts are extracted from their fruits by hand (only the best are selected). The selected kernals are then pressed, processed and allowed to settle before extraction of the purest oil begins. Argan Oil has been used for many centuries by the Berger women of Morroco to condition and nourish the hair and body. Wild Argan Radiant Oil is £14 and can be bought here

Kiehl’s – Rare Earth Deep Pore Cleansing Masque
I’ve known about Kiehl’s for a while now but never really had the time to try or veer off my usual brands. It was on a 3 hour stop over from Portland to Sacremeto last summer with nothing to do but walk around the duty free shops that I found myself in the Kiehl’s. Having ample time to relax and and the excuse to shop (as I was on holiday after all), I decided to try the Rare Earth Deep Pore Cleansing Masque. The masque is made of white clay, with an authentic clay like smell. The mask is quite thick to the touch so only a small amount is required so a small pot will go a long way! I still have mine and I bought it May last year. The formula is enriched with minerals that draw the dirt and dead skin cells from your pores. After only ten minutes your skin will literally fell like a babies bottom! One tip from me is that this mask is for normal to oily skin, and if like me your skin type changes with the seasons then your more likely to use this more in the summer (great just on those oily or T-Zone areas). The Kiehl’s Rare Earth Deep Pore Cleansing Masque is £21.50, to buy click here.
What are your 2014 beauty heroes?
