Marsala – Pantone Colour Of The Year 2015
Marsala is the deep red wine colour that is taking the fashion world by storm. It’s not that often that I get fixated with a fashion trend, but with a name like Marsala an exception had to be made. The name Marsala is taken from an Italian wine produced in the Italian City of Marsala in Sicily. Being of Indian origin I like to think that a few of the Indian Masala spices played a part into the Marsala name and colour pairing pallet.

Leatrice Eiseman the Executive Director at the Pantone Color Institue gave this description of Marsala: “Marsala enriches our mind, body and soul, ecluding confidence and stability. Marsala is a subtly seductive shade, one that draws us in to its embracing warmth”.
Marsala is a Pantone shade that works well in beauty, clothing and home wear. In Makeup the gorgeous Marsala reds are more subtle and grown up in comparison to the typical vixen reds that are currently being worn. For cheeks and eyes the Marsala shade provides more of a deep red, suiting more darker haired skin tones such as myself. In clothing whether you are male or female Marsala can be bought in through accessories or key pieces of your clothing. One of my favourite Marsala pieces is my chunky knit snood from Accessorize and my Lola Lipstick. If none of the above takes your fancy then while it;s still chilly outside why not get some Marsala in your home, in the form of soft furnishings. To help you on your Marsala way below are a few of my top Marsala picks.
