#LFPAMPER The October Edition
Hello Autumn! I shouldn’t really feel shocked by the turn in the weather and the arrival of the colder climate…I mean it happens every year! This year though, I have been desperately trying to cling onto the summer months that little bit longer as I’m an October baby, and the change in seasons means that I’m that one year older and not an age that I’m particularly comfortable with. Birthdays aside, I do love Autumn – the change of the leaves from green to oranges and reds, wooly hats and cosy knit jumpers, and sitting by the fire with a glass of red wine in hand..pure bliss! So when this pink #LFPAMPER beauty box by Lookfantastic turned up on my doorstep, discovering its contents had me mentally planning my next pamper night. Let’s have a look at what’s in the box.
Oskia Renaissance Mask – The smell of this mask is a reminder of a spa and I could just sniff on this little pot all day! The Renaissance mask is made from an infused blend of fruit acids which work to decongest the skin by exfoliating away dead skin cells. As soon as I got my hands on this very generous pot – that you can probably get a few applications out of – I slapped it all over my face. Its thick but non-gooey mixture reminds me of a Vaseline consistency. My skin has been on the “I’m having a teenage breakout side” and whilst not wanting to overwork it, I felt the enzymes really helped cleanse the facial area without drying out the skin leaving it brighter and fresher looking.
Mio Liquid Yoga – Another one of my favourite brands whereof the ingredients and scent evoke luxury. I got quite a strong Lavender smell upon fopening, mixed in with a blend of Epsom salts, Arnica and Mandarin. This liquid yoga is one to saviour on those nights when all you want to do is have a bath and fall into a deep sleep.
Polaar The Genuine Lapland Cream – The dreaded winter dry lips, as if on cue, have come into effect this month, and the fact that I’m suffering from a cold doesn’t help. This lip balm is concentrated in arctic berries and is said to hydrate and nourish the lips. It’s quite light on application, with no tint, perfect for wearing underneath your favourite lipstick shade.
Murad Intensive-C Radiance Peel – This intensive treatment is said to give that tingling feeling through its mixture of Glycol acid, Vitamin C and Indian Fig, leaving the skin glowing! I’m going to save this for a post holiday/post birthday treatment for when I really need to get the glow back.
Laura Geller Pout Perfection Waterproof Lipliner – I never used to really care about lipliners and thought of it as a wasted step or an annoying addition to a routine that already takes too long. However, since I’ve managed to find that perfect nude lip pencil that goes with about 5 of my lip shades and really invested in applying lipliner first, I’ve found that my lipstick stays on for longer, doesn’t bleed outside the lip area and you can also just use it on its own with your favourite lip balm if you’re really in a rush. This shade is the perfect Autumn berry red.
Alterna Caviar Moisture Intense Treatment – Okay, so I’m usually not a fan of hair treatments! But, seeing that my hair has had a bit of a beating from the sun and does get abused on a daily basis by the hairdryer, it’s definitely going to need some conditioning love. This pre-shampoo treatment is ideal for dehydrated hair, perfect for applying for 15mins when sitting in the bath, helping your hair appear stronger and healthier and conditioned from root to tip.
Mrs J’s verdict – This is the first time – in a very long time – that I have been completely happy with every item in the box and immediately want to use them all. This, for me, has trumped the birthday edition box that I was slightly defaulted by. When writing this post, I was sitting with the Oskia mask and Polaar lip balm on and the bath running ready for some Liquid Yoga! Ten out of ten from me!
