It started with a bottle of White Musk

I have been shopping at the body shop for over 20 years now and I am happy to know that the core values of their business has not changed.  The Body Shop reminds me of my childhood and weekend trips to the local town center with my friend Linzi.  Even though we couldn’t afford much we managed to leave with a few bath oil balls and a wish list for Christmas with a lot of White Musk products on it. Yes White Musk is still going!
So now for a bit of History:
The Body Shop was founded by Anita Roddick a human rights activist who believed that “The business of business should not just be about money, it should be about responsibility.  It should be about public good, not private greed.”  The company to this day still follows its five core values: Support Community Fair Trade, Defend Human Rights, Against Animal Testing, Activate Self-Esteem, and Protect Our Planet.
As we get older and have larger disposable incomes we are spoilt by choice.  While I have moved away from White Musk on the perfume front, below are a few of my favourite, ever faithful products that I thought I would share with you.  For all you ladies that want to know where my eye shadow is from! Well now you know 😉

 Raspberry Body Butter
This rich Body Butter is great for all skin types.  It rubs in well and leaves skin feeling smooth and soft.  It also comes with the matching shower gel and for a 200ml tub is only £13.  If Raspberry is not your flavour then The Body Shop has many different alternatives such as Almond, Coconut, Hemp, and Vitamin E.

Perfect shades to take you from that Day to night look, each shade is easy to mix and match.  With seven different Cube Palette’s to choose from you could buy another palette and create your own shades at home.  Each cube is in a little box and great for slotting into your makeup bag.
A great flat brush for applying foundation and for only £12!  It’s made from synthetic hair and is easy to wash.  Tip: use Tea Tree facial wash to clean your brushes and dry flat to prolong the life of the brush.
The Hemp Hand Protector comes in two sizes 30ml for £5 and 100ml for £10.  This product is really good for dry skin and doesn’t leave a horrible sticky feeling on your hands after. If your big on the old Hand sanitisers then this will be the perfect product for you as the alcohol content in hand sanitisers dry your skin out so always apply some hand cream after.
Vitamin E facial Oil 15ml for £11.  This product was my saviour in the run up to my wedding last year as the last minute stress caused me to get dry skin patches on my face! Not what a bride wants before her big day.  But slapping this oil on my face for a few days before cleared it all up.  Yes it is really oily but also really nourishing.  Good to use in replacement of night cream when your on holiday after your face has had a lot of exposure to the sun.
Love your body, Love The Body Shop
