Happy 21st Birthday Oliver Bonas!
Oliver Bonas is by far one of my all time favourite stores, who knew that they have been around for 21 years! It’s quirky, fun, bright and individual. Their products don’t follow the typical high street trends, but ooze great style and design. Whether its a birthday present, some luxurious (reasonably priced) hand wash or simply a treat for myself I always find the perfect gift.
So when I was invited by the Oliver Bonas team to come to Olly’s House to preview the AW14 collection, as you can imagine my Christmas’s had come early. For me this was like being a kid let loose in a sweet shop, but before I go into the details of the new collection let me give you a bit of history about the man himself – Olly.
Olly spent many years travelling with his family, and from these trips he would bring back handbags and other interesting items. It was then that he saw that there was a demand for these products that couldn’t be bought in England and decided to open is first store in Fulham high street. 21 years later the brand is growing from strength to strength with over 40 brick and mortar stores and a online store.
Back to the house! below are a few images from the day:
The Furniture and home wear accessories are fun and although they can be bought as part of a collection, they are also great individual statement pieces that can be enjoyed by the whole family. Below are a few of my favourtite pieces:
Colour Pop Matt Bamboo bowls from £5-12, great for those summer salads, or as serving bowls at a dinner party. To buy the bowls click here.
Maggie Five Drawer Wooden Jewellery Box £59. Great for organising your rings and earrings. The different colours and wonky drawer look gives the box a vintage feel. To buy the Jewellery Box click here.
The chair above and soft furnishings are not available to by just yet but I had to share with you how well mixing colours, textures and patterns works when you do it right. To shop Oliver Bonas Furniture click here
The gem of the soft furnishings was the Malibu drinks Trolly! Mr J take note for only £195 this trolly will be the talk of the party! To buy the trolley click here.
Having peeled myself away from all the gorgeous furniture I made my way over to the clothes and accessories. Coming from a fashion merchandising background I am a stickler for quality and originality. It was great to see that the AW collection wasn’t dull and dark, but quite the opposite with loads of wearable pieces that can take you straight from the office to a night out on the town. The inspiration for the collections is taken from art work, catwalks, artists exhibitions, and what is going on in the world rather than following trends. Images below:
The focus on accessories is great statement necklaces and detailed clutches. You can see the attendtion to detail on the design of these beautiful pieces. The clutces have bright zips and contrast lining, while the necklaces are just the item to complete an outfit. Below are a few of my favourite pieces:
Chara Geo Wood Necklace – £26. To buy the necklace click here
The above Necklace’s is not out yet but are both on my wishlist. To look at all the other gorgeous necklaces at Oliver Bonas click here.
