Exclusive Nude By Nature The Launch
I love discovering new brands especially the type that I have never heard of or used. On that I’m referring to mineral makeup and the brand, Nude By Nature. So today I am proud to say that I bring you an exclusive preview of this fantastic Australian award winning brand about to launch on the 9th of October on FeelUnique!
So what is Nude By Nature?
Nude By Nature is Australia’s number one mineral makeup brand founded in 2008. The formula is free of any harmful toxins and chemicals such as parabens, silicone, talc, bismuth, sulphates and siloxanes. These products provide flawless and long-lasting finish that is great at protecting and nourishing the skin. They also contain some natural Australian ingredients that I have never come across with like Kakadu Plum and Quandong. Kakadu Plum contains the world’s highest dose of Vitamin C and Quandong is known for its rejuvenating properties like that of Vitamin E. Nude By Nature products also contain Cehami extract, Shea butter, avocado oil, jojoba oil and Kaolin clay. I must also add that no animal testing has taken place on any of Nude By Nature products and all brushes are made of high quality synthetic fibres.

Clint Dowdell, brand ambassador and makeup artist for Nude By Nature, says: “As a makeup artist, it’s my job to make people look good. But with Nude By Nature, I have the pleasure of making women not only look good but feel good too. It’s rewarding when you can show someone a product that makes them look stunning and seeing their smile as they look in the mirror. It’s the power of making them look like the best, natural version of themselves. Best of all, it is good for them.”
Mrs J’s Verdict
I’ve had a bit of a non-starter of a journey with mineral makeup. It’s not because I don’t like it or don’t necessarily believe in it. It’s more like because I have been bought up with cream to powder foundation and liquid foundation embossed in my brain. Therefore trying to get a girl to change her makeup habits is a big step. Having spent some time with Nude By Nature’s brand ambassador and makeup artist extraordinaire Clint Dowdell, I soon learnt that there is a fine art to applying mineral makeup and less is definitely more! After all you can add but you really can’t take that caked look away without starting all over again. He showed me what the unique design of the powder to foundation and all the powder pots meant: that with a little pressure applied by the chosen brush on the mesh of the pot, a small amount of powder comes through allowing you to apply and blend the correct amount of product. That trick takes away the annoyance of having to tip product into a pot lid or worse spilling half of the contents of the pot on the floor. Using a wide brush (that of a Kabuki style rather than a stippling brush) for powder form makeup also allows for easy application and a fantastic blend. Watching Clint Dowdell make up my fellow partner in crime, Olivia Cox, was really like watching an artist at work.
His easy yet simple powder to brush to face techniques created a flawless (I have no makeup on) finish and one that could be replicated by any one of us. Trust me I have been practicing! So have I been converted? Yes, I think I have. Whilst Nude By Nature has its own foundation as well, I won’t be throwing my foundations away just yet. Nonetheless, I think that mineral makeup has definitely had me thinking about the good old dilemma of how much is too much, what am I putting on my face and how powder can really work with your skin to create a perfect canvas look. The one thing that I do like about this brand is how it considered different types of skin tone and colour and catered for the darker-skinned person such as myself. And oh, they are pretty good, price-wise, as well!
If you’re thinking of switching to mineral like me… then Nude By Nature is your king!
