The Sunday Night Bridal Facial!

The Sunday night facial is back! It’s something that I intend on sharing on a monthly basis. So if you have any particular concerns or questions, or products you would like me to try, then I’ll leave all my info at the bottom of the post (or feel free to leave a comment). So you’re probably wondering why I’m referring to bridal facials as I am already married! No, I’m not renewing my vows. It’s just that, well this week it seems, was the week when all the beautiful wedding invites started landing on my doorstep. It got me thinking about my own wedding day, the run up to it and what my skin went through as yes, I did go a bit crazy bride. The added pressures of being away from work for three weeks, and my catering wedding planner being sacked the week before, stress levels were high! And so my face broke out in full-on, itchy dry patches as a result. My saviour was the course of regular facials that I had booked in six sessions, I think it was, for every few weeks before the wedding and Vitamin E oil!

There are many benefits to having a regular monthly facial: improvement of the overall appearance of the skin, management of skin conditions, better understanding of your skin type and a full-on deep clean/MOT for the face! What if you can’t afford a salon facial? Then apart from finding a mobile facialist, investing in some high grade home facial skincare is the route to go. This month, I’ve been loving Exuviance’s Triple Microdermabrasion face polish and Bionic Oxygen Facial which, when used in combination, do give instant results, improving overall complexion, tone and any resurfacing scars or marks.

The Bridal Facial

Exuviance Triple Mircodermabrasion*
This polish gently buffs away at the top layer, using its formula of pure professional grade crystals, pure papaya enzyme and 10% Glycolic acid. Any impurities get dissolved away as do any dead or dry skin cells, leaving you with a glowing complexion.

Directions for use: Apply a thin even layer, once or twice a week, to a clean wet face. Massage the polish in a circular motion for 30 seconds, avoiding the eye area. It is important that you do not scrub your face with this polish. Leave on for two minutes (one minute for more sensitive skin) then thoroughly wash your face and pat the skin dry. The best time to do this is just before bed and follow on with your usual night time routine.

Exuviance Triple Mircodermabrasion £60, currently on offer at £51.99 on facethefuture.co.uk (price correct on date that this article was posted)

Exuviance Bionic Oxygen Facial*
Having just launched earlier this year, the Bionic Oxygen Facial is a dermatologist-developed face mask. When applied to damp skin, the face is infused with pure oxygen. With self-activating bubbles, it gives quite an odd feeling as first as the mask almost starts fizzing and you can feel it dissolving and working on your face – all in 5 minutes! I can totally vouch that this works instantly. My skin looked brighter, cleaner and revived. I even laid off applying any makeup so as not to lose the effect. At £60 a bottle, it’s not the cheapest of beauty masks to purchase, but a small amount goes a long away and will last you roughly a few months if used 3-4 times a week.

Exuviance Bionic Oxygen Facial £60, currently on offer at £47.45 on facethefuture.co.uk (price correct on date that this article was posted)
