Bootea The Natural Teatox

Diets! The dreaded D word.  They never really work for me, and trust me I have tried and tested a few of them.  With the sun beaming down on us for the last few days, it really is a reminder that summer is on it’s way and it’s time to get that Booty into shape.  Being healthy and active is a life style choice and that is what attracted me to Bootea a teatox (detox) that doesn’t stop you eating, but gives you the necessary tools and access to a flexible eating plan to help you along the way.  When I first told my friends that I was doing a teatox, they thought I was crazy and was juts drinking tea for 14 days….. I don’t think that’s even possible, and I never want to try.  So just to clear any confusion up, doing the Bootea Teatox does not involve just drinking tea.  It’s a natural healthy supplement along with healthy eating and exercise can help you caterpult you into a healthy routine.

So who are Bootea?

Bootea is a UK natural based supplement company that promote and active, healthy and balanced lifestyle.  They ship worldwide folk and Bootea is taking the US market by the storm.

How does it work?

There are various different Bootea products: tea’s, shakes and now even oats. The teatox specifically that I have tried works in two parts. A morning teabag that you drink to kick start your day off, the morning teabag contains a very small amount of caffeine, and while it may not give you the coffee hit that some of us so require, it does taste yummy and leaves you feeling lighter and a bit more mindful of what you have for breakfast. ie no more egg and bacon bagels!  Think fruit, yogurt and wholemeal toast.  Part two of the teatox is the night time teabag that you take every other night before you go to bad.  Don’t worry it contains no caffeine so it wont have you up all night climbing the walls.  Now please note that the night time tea has natural ingredients in it that can induce a laxative type effect, so for first time teatoxers I suggest having your first night time tea as the start of a weekend just in case.  In most cases as myself the night time teabag caused no issues, which was a relief but also showed that my general diet was okay.

OK, but what does it do?

If you’ve read this far then your probably wondering what it exactly does …  all the natural ingredients in Bootea work with the body to remove unwanted toxins in the body, through our lungs, kidneys, bowels and skin.  (note all the ingredients in Bootea are natural and have been used for centuries in many culture  to detox, heal and relax the body). Each teabag just needs to be left in boiling water for a 3 – 5 minutes to infuse before drinking, and don’t worry if you forget to drink the daytime teabag as I have done on numerous occasions, just drink it when you can during the day.

The Ingredients:

Daytime teabag

Chinese Oolong tea, Maté leaves, Ginger root, Fennel seeds, Lemongrass, Dandelion leaf, Ginseng root, Gotu Kola leaves, and Nettle leaves.

Nighttime teabag

Senna leaves, Peppermint leaves, Fenugreek seeds, Liquorice root, Burdock root, Hawthorn leaves, Valerian root, Psyllium seeds

The Verdict:

After using Bootea for 14 days, I feel lighter, less bloated and generally more aware of what I am eating and drinking.  Having the morning tea has reduced my caffeine intake first thing, and weirdly has stopped me feeling hungry at 10am. Maybe that’s my subconscious reminding me I’m trying to be healthy or maybe the herbs are working their magic.  Either way i’m not complaining.   The nighttime tea has also just made me take half an hour before I go to sleep for a bit of me time away from my laptop and constantly checking social media. Instead im reading a book, or talking to Mr J. Am I going to reorder? Hell yes, I’ve already purchased the 28 day teatox and this time I’m getting a bit more serious about sticking to the eating plan at least during the week.
