The Bold is Beautiful Project

For a title, “Bold is Beautiful” is quite a strong opening line or statement to start a post with. To feel and look beautiful is not about receiving compliments from other people, but how you personally feel inside and out. With styling tools, accessories, and endless amount of skincare and makeup at our disposal, we can all re-style and make ourselves up in any way we wish. So what happens when the appearance that you have taken for granted (i.e. your hair and the eyebrows) change or get visibly affected as an effect of cancer treatment? Look Good Feel Better is a charity that was formed over 22 years ago to specifically help women combat the visible signs of their cancer treatment through free skincare consultations and make-up workshops. These workshops or sessions are hosted by volunteer beauty consultants and women leave uplifted and smiling, not only looking good but feeling good as well.

So this year as part of the Bold is Beautiful Project and in celebration of the ‘Year of the Brow’, Benefit Cosmetics has pledged to donate 100% of its profits from their brow waxing services during the month of May! All the proceeds will be going to its two key charities, one of which is the one I have mentioned above, Look Good Feel Better, and the second one is Refuge (an association that supports women and children escaping domestic violence).

How do you get involved?
Well there are two ways in which you can get involved! 1. You can book in a brow wax during the month of May (and receive a complementary full-size Gimme Brow worth £18.50); 2. You can sign up to take part in the Bold is Beautiful march (with loads of free Benefit Cosmetics goodies along the route). This 4.5 mile route will start and end in central London’s Cavandish Square, allowing all walkers to take in some of the historic sites of London and, of course, get pampered along the way! Benefit Cosmetics has set up check points all along the route where walkers can receive beauty ‘touch-up’s to their skin, lips, eyes and brows! For more info or to sign up, click here.
